At WoodyCases.com we love woodworking. Creating the most amazing wood iPhone cases possible is undoubtedly our passion. However, when dealing with woodworking, you have to be very cautious and aware of your surroundings, specifically in regards to machines and tools that you encounter day in and day out. In honor of Woodworking Safety Day, we wanted to take a minute to go over some basic safety provisions and guidelines that we follow every day at Woody™ while making these cases.
Always be aware of dangerous situations
Working with wood (especially Mahogany) is fun and a great hobby, but you have to familiarize yourself with the machines/tools that you are working with and analyze the dangers BEFORE an incident occurs. Far too many times we see people using a planer improperly without the awareness of the dangers that machine presents.
When dealing with such powerful machines, it’s important to be focused on the task at hand. Whether you are using a jointer or a chisel, there is always a higher chance of an incident occurring it you’re not focused on what you’re doing. Have a clear mind of the outside world while you’re woodworking, there is no need to bring outside distractions inside the shop!
Take Your Time
This last one is really important to us here at WoodyCases.com. At the end of the day, woodworking is all about safety as well as quality. Take your time with your work and perform it at a comfortable speed. Rushing through steps is not only extremely dangerous, but at times can also end in less than desirable quality results. By trying to do things quicker than you are accustomed to you are more prone to mistakes and forgetting to take basic safety procedures.
Woodworking is a beautiful art that can be really fun and helpful in life. Just remember to be cautious and aware while dealing with machinery. We have a good time creating solid Mahogany iPhone cases, but we are always sure to perform the procedures in the safest way possible and we hope you do the same whether it’s at work or at home as a hobby.
